MSU announces Maroon Academy for Teaching and Learning certificate program
»¨ÐãÖ±²¥ State's Office of the Provost and the Center for Teaching and Learning are pleased to announce the Maroon Academy for Teaching Excellence.
This new certificate program for university teachers will consist of four online, micro-credential courses in teaching to begin summer of 2023. Courses will cover essential teaching topics such as course design and assessment, active learning, inclusive teaching and supporting student learning. Class assignments are designed to assist participants in actively improving their course instruction and will require implementation during a regular semester. Â

The Maroon Academy online courses are supported by the efforts and input of many faculty from across campus who have graciously given of their time to provide their perspectives to help participants succeed. In addition, each course will be taught by a faculty expert with support from the CTL. The first two courses are Intentional Course Design and Assessment, taught by Stephanie King, and Active Learning for Student Engagement, taught by Nicole Miller.
The first cohort will take the second set of courses in the summer of 2024. Â

The initial class of the Maroon Academy is limited to 30 participants. Those who complete all course requirements, including the in-semester implementation and reflections, will receive a small stipend. For more information and application guidelines, visit .
