Little鈥檚 MSU Spanish course earns international Quality Matters certification

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥敾ㄐ阒辈 State鈥檚 Spanish I course, taught by Instructor Chris Little in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures, is now an internationally recognized Qualify Matters-certified curriculum.
The QM designation is the result of Little鈥檚 commitment in completing the rigorous review process and continuous improvement as seen in the innovative work of the instructional design team in MSU鈥檚 Center for Distance Education. The class now appears in the QM directory of certified courses with the distinguishable online and blended course design quality mark.
Tracy Craven, CDE associate director, said Little is dedicated to creating learning environments that provide learners with a clear pathway to success.
鈥淐hris Little鈥檚 completion of the Quality Matters review underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence in online education, demonstrating our faculty鈥檚 dedication to creating engaging, well-structured and student-centered courses,鈥 she said.
The QM official review provided independent validation of the course鈥檚 quality, learner-focused design. Reviews are conducted by QM-certified reviewers and use the Quality Matters rubric and associated standards, which are based on research and best practices. A course earns the QM certification mark once it meets QM rubric standards at the 85% threshold or better and meets all essential standards.
