After nearly a dozen years at 花秀直播 State, Odie Bush of West Point recently began a new role with the university鈥檚 Longest Student Health Center.

A Clay County native, the working wife and mother of two began at the center as a receptionist in 2006. After completing a medical billing and coding degree last year at East 花秀直播 Community College鈥檚 Golden Triangle Campus, she qualified for promotion to the campus medical facility鈥檚 insurance and business office.

鈥淚t was my goal to learn more about the insurance side of the office, as well as more about coding,鈥 Bush said. 鈥淚 enjoy learning new things.鈥

She now is part of a three-member team whose complex and demanding duties keep all very busy year-round. In addition to the daily stream of patients, they assist five board-certified physicians and four family nurse-practitioners at the two-story brick complex built mid-20th century at the intersection of Hardy and Morrill roads.

Bush said she derives a special enjoyment from being in a caring environment where all work together to meet the diverse needs of MSU students and other patients.

鈥淥f course, we help each other out,鈥 she said. On occasions when some administrative areas may become short-staffed, 鈥淚 can go up front because I鈥檓 familiar with that area as well,鈥 she added.

When not at work, Bush said she most likely may be found spending quality time with her husband and two daughters.

Other very special occasions include gospel singing and related church choir activities at Brown Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Crawford.
